Minutes of the Special Council Meeting of the Governing Body for the Village of Cloudcroft, held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., in the Village Council Chambers, 201 Burro Avenue, Cloudcroft, NM.
Mayor Dave Venable called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. with the following Council members providing a full Quorum: Present/absent:
Trustee/ Mayor Pro Tern William Denney – present Trustee – George Mitchell – present
Trustee – John Tieman – present Trustee – James R. Maynard – present
The following Village staff and guests were present: Barbara K. Garcia, Village Clerk/Treasurer; Jini Turri, Administrator; Rex Mccourt, Southwest Disposal {Item #1)
The pledge of allegiance to the US and NM flags was led by Mayor Dave Venable . (Item #2)
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Mayor Venable entertained a motion to approve the Agenda for the Special Meeting of June 25, 2020. Trustee Mitchell made such motion, Trustee Tieman seconded the motion and upon vote of Trustees, Denney, Mitchell, Tieman and Maynard all voting “aye” the motion carried unanimously. (Item #3)
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Mayor Venable entertained a motion to approve the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of June 9, 2020 and Special Council Meeting of June 15, 2020. Trustee Tieman made such motion, Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion and upon vote of Trustees, Denney, Mitchell, Tieman and Maynard all voting “aye” the motion carried unanimously. (Item #4)
MAYOR’S REPORT:
Special meeting to be set for pending litigation. (Item #5)
NEW BUSINESS:
- Discussion/Actio:nAward Recipient RFP 2020.02 Solid Waste Disposal Services for the Village of Cloudcroft Village Clerk verified that the proposal had been sent in the required format delivered in a timely manner and opened while under Evaluations had been performed and the staff recommendation was made to award the Solid Waste Disposal Service to Southwest Disposal. Discussion ensued with Rex Mccourt regarding the increase in the fee over the CPI-U Index. Mayor Venable entertained a motion to approve or reject the proposal by Southwest Disposal for the Village Solid Waste Disposal Service, Trustee Denney made a motion to approve the proposal as presented, Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion and with no further discussion a roll call vote was taken.

The motion carries unanimously. (Item #6)
