Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of the Governing Body for the Village of Cloudcroft, held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., in the Village Council Chambers, 201 Burro Avenue, Cloudcroft, NM.
CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Denney called the meeting to order at 6:00PM with the following Council members providing a full Quorum:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The pledge of allegiance to the United States and New Mexico fiags was led by Mayor Denney.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Mayor Denney called for a motion to REMOVE Discussion/Action Publication of Adoption, Ordinance 395 Title 1, Chapter 7 Fire/EMS/PD by Title and General Subject Matter. Trustee Tieman made a motion to approve the agenda to include the removal of Ordinance 395. Trustee McCoy seconded the motion. Vote as follows: Trustee McCoy, for; Trustee Tieman, for; Trustee Maynard, for; Trustee Mitchell, for. Motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Regular Council Meeting of February 8, 2022, Special Council Meeting of February 22, 2022, Special Council Meeting of March 1, 2022 & Work Session Governing Body of March 1, 2022. Mayor Denney advised of typo on February 8, 2022, to be corrected. Trustee Maynard motioned to approve all minutes as amended. Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion. Vote as follows: Trustee McCoy, for; Trustee Tieman, for; Trustee Maynard, for; Trustee Mitchell, for. Motion carried unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mayor Denney reminded the council of the dates for the Budget Retreat Workshop
NEW BUSINESS:
Southwest Disposal Rate Increase – Rex Mccourt
Mr. Mccourt presented a rate increase to garbage disposal of 7.5% per the CPI January to January increase. Billing per unit is done on the number of water meters. Trustee Tieman made a motion to accept the proposal of 7.5% rate increase based on CPI from Southwest Disposal. Trustee Maynard seconded the motion. Vote as follows: Trustee McCoy, for; Trustee Tieman, for; Trustee Maynard, for; Trustee Mitchell, for. Motion carried unanimously.
Recommendation to approve New Hire Police Department – Officer Chris Swanson Mayor Denney provided Officer Chris Swanson, with rate of pay, as his recommendation to fill the open Police Officer position in the Village. Trustee Maynard made a motion to approve the hire of Officer Chris Swanson. Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion. Vote as follows: Trustee McCoy, for; Trustee Tieman, for; Trustee Maynard, for; Trustee Mitchell, for. Motion carried unanimously.
