Minutes of the Special Council Meeting of the Governing Body for the Village of Cloudcroft, held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the Village Council Chambers, 201 Burro Avenue, Cloudcroft, NM.
- Call to Order: Mayor Denney called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m., with the following Council members providing a full quorum: Present / Absent:
Trustee/ Mayor William Denney – present
Trustee/ Mayor Pro-Tern Maynard – present
Trustee – Gail McCoy – present
Trustee – George Mitchell – present
Trustee – Grover Sterling – present
The following staff & guests were present for the Regular Meeting: Shaela Hemphill; Deputy Clerk - Pledge of Allegiance: The pledge of allegiance to the United States and New Mexico flags was led by Mayor Denney

- Approval of Agenda:
Mayor Denney called for a motion to approve the agenda of the Special Meeting for June 27, 2023. Trustee Maynard made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Trustee Mitchell seconded.

Trustee Mitchell – For
Trustee Sterling – For
Motion carried unanimously. - Approval of Minutes:
Work Session of the Governing Body June 9, 2023, and Regular Council Meeting of the Governing Body June 13, 2023.
Trustee McCoy made a motion to approve all minutes as presented. Trustee Sterling seconded.

Trustee Sterling – For
Motion carried unanimously. - Executive Session:
Recess into closed session in compliance with Limited Personnel Matters §10-15-1.H (2)
Trustee Maynard motioned to adjourn to Executive Session to discuss confidential materials concerning Failed Retention of New Hires. Mayor Denney acknowledged the motion and called for a second, Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion and with no further discussion a roll call vote was taken:

Council recessed into closed session at 3:07 p.m. - Reconvene Into Open Session:
Mayor Denney entertained a motion to adjourn from Executive Session and reconvene into Open Session at 4:49 p.m. Trustee McCoy made such motion; Trustee Mitchell seconded the motion and with no further discussion a roll call vote was taken:

Trustee Maynard – Absent (Medical Emergency During Executive Session)
Trustee Mitchell – Aye
Trustee Sterling – Aye - Adjournment:
Trustee Mitchell made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting of June 27, 2023. Trustee Sterling seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 4:52 p.m.
