DRIVER’S LICENSE OR IDENTIFICATION CARD

Passed by Congress in 2005, the REAL ID ACT establishes minimum security standards for state-issued Driver’s Licenses (DL)and Identification (ID) cards that can be used for official federal purposes.

Required Documents to obtain Real ID – License or ID

  • Identification Number – (1) required. SEE LINK FOR EXAMPLES
  • Identity – (1) required. SEE LINK FOR EXAMPLES
  • Residency – (2) required for all ages, physical address only – SEE LINK FOR EXAMPLES

Proof for all legal name changes if your proof of identity document does not contain your current full legal name. This may include a marriage certificate, divorce decree, adoption records or court order.

Skills testing for first time driving license are schedule through the office. Please call 575-682-3189 to ensure that you have completed all necessary tests and have documentation required and we will set appointment for you. Testing is done by appointment only on Monday and Thursday mornings.

The Village of Cloudcroft does not handle the issuance of Interlock Licensing, please visit a state office for assistance.

Registration Renewal

Provide Motor Vehicle Clerk with either Plate Number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or Drivers License number attached to Vehicle.

Fees / Taxes may be paid with Cash, Credit or Debit – (NO CHECKS ACCEPTED FOR STATE FEES), there will also be a Village of Cloudcroft transaction fee of $10.00 that will be accepted in Cash.

Title and Register a new vehicle:

Required Documents

  • Certificate of Origin For A Vehicle (MSO)
  • Current Insurance effective for the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) you are titling
  • Purchase Order, Bill of Sale or Itemized Invoice of purchase
  • New Mexico Drivers License – If Drivers License is out of state you must provide two (2) proofs of residency in the state of New Mexico with your name and physical address location.
  • Fees / Taxes may be paid with Cash, Credit or Debit – (NO CHECKS ACCEPTED FOR STATE FEES), there will also be a Village of Cloudcroft transaction fee of $10.00 that will be accepted in Cash.

  • Out of State Title must be accompanied by Vehicle for a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspection.

PARKING PLACARD FOR MOBILITY IMPAIRED INDIVIDUALS

Completed MVD Form 10383 – Certificate of Eligibility for Parking Placard

  • Original form for first time Placard must be completed by your physician
  • Renewal/Replacement of permanent placards must have form completed by recipient
  • Temporary placards must be renewed with a newly completed form by physician
