Fire Prevention and Community Safety Awareness Day
Parade begins at 11:00 AM on Burro Ave in front of the Cloudcroft Brewery.
Follow us to Zenith Park and the Tennis Courts for the following activities:
- Get your picture with Sparky the Fire Dog!
- Kiddie corral. Jumping castles, games, snow cones and popcorn. Lots of FREE giveaways including bicycle helmets, fire prevention items, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms and more.
- Demonstrations will be held every 15 minutes. See a vehicle extrication, climb inside a helicopter, check out the DWI simulators, enroll your child in “child find” fingerprinting and more.
- The Sparky’s Fire Prevention Team will be on site serving their delicious hot dogs, bratwursts and other items for lunch under the open air ice skating rink (Sewell ice skating rink).
Admission is FREE of charge, however, DONATIONS are greatly needed and appreciated.
There is something for all ages. It will be exciting and you will be amazed!
This year we are working closely with our local Boy Scouts. They and their families will be on site helping and having fun with us.

Free stuff for adults and kids!
The Cloudcroft Volunteer Fire Department has been hosting a Fire Prevention Day for over two decades. Departments from all over the county, the Forest Service, Red Cross, Otero County Sheriff, Native Air and others are invited to participate with information booths, extrication, burn demos and Door Prizes. Sparky and Smoky Bear make appearances, and hot dogs and snacks are served.
This year’s Fire Prevention and Community Safety Awareness Day will take place at the James Sewell Ice Rink in Zenith Parkon Saturday, September 21 from 11:00 am to 4:00 PM.
